Overall, the amount of people searching Pi Beta Phi on Google has decreased significantly over the last ten years and there is no search trend for the OU chapter of Pi Phi. This is probably due to the rise of social media. If people want to learn about a local chapter they will most likely check the local social media accounts.
The majority of the “trending now” section is sports-related or political stories. Most sororities or fraternities don’t fit in either of these categories. However, the OU SAE chapter went viral because their racist chant was an act of racism and illegal. In order for a sorority-related article to be trending for a positive reason, a sorority would need to do something unique, special and touching.
There is the opportunity to showcase Pi Phi’s unique philanthropic actions.
